NON WORKING SUPERVISOR

As a Non Working Supervisor you will be expected to lead by example by promoting a safe working environment and implementing S&D company site requirements and legal obligations. Ensure all tasks follow approved RAMS, evaluate and amend risk assessments, and deliver site-specific toolbox talks. Proactively identify and eliminate safety hazards. Only allow competent persons to operate equipment, maintain accurate records, and ensure all equipment is in good condition. Report accidents and near misses immediately, assist in investigations, and resolve emergencies professionally. Schedule and coordinate plant and material deliveries, update inventories, and minimize waste. Provide leadership by motivating site teams, ensuring progress, quality, and adherence to specifications, and addressing non-conformance issues promptly. Maintain good housekeeping, praise good practices, make calculated decisions to minimize risks, and enhance performance. Understand team strengths and weaknesses, ensure relevant training, and reprimand deliberate failures. Communicate effectively, plan short-term work programs, and conduct regular site inspections

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as a General Operative in Traffic Management. The ideal candidate will lead by example, promoting a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with S&D company site requirements and legal obligations.

KEY QUALITIES & EXPERIENCE

  • Lead by example: Promote a safe working environment and help implement S&D company site requirements and legal obligations.

  • Follow approved RAMS: Ensure all tasks are carried out in line with approved RAMS, evaluate and amend risk assessments, and deliver site-specific toolbox talks/briefings. Proactively assess and eliminate potential safety hazards.

  • Competent operation: Ensure only competent persons operate plant and equipment, maintain accurate plant registers, records, and reports, and keep all equipment in good, safe condition.

  • Report incidents: Report accidents and near misses immediately, assist in accident/incident investigations, and resolve emergencies proficiently and professionally.

  • Manage deliveries: Schedule, coordinate, and call off plant and material deliveries, ensuring timely procurement. Produce and update material/plant inventories, minimize material waste, and off-hire plant when not required.

  • Display leadership: Oversee, motivate, and drive site teams, ensuring progress, quality, and adherence to project specifications. Promptly identify and rectify non-conformance notices.

  • Maintain housekeeping: Always maintain good housekeeping within your control area.

  • Praise good practices: Recognize and praise good work practices, progress, and attention to detail.

  • Make calculated decisions: Make decisions that minimize project risks and enhance performance/financial opportunities.

  • Be proactive: Actively solve problems and make decisions.

  • Understand team strengths: Be accountable for understanding each team member’s strengths and weaknesses.

  • Ensure training: Ensure site personnel have job-relevant training.

  • Reprimand failures: Be responsible for reprimanding those who deliberately fail in their duties.

  • Communicate effectively: Maintain good communication, organizational, planning, and time management skills. Plan and undertake continuous short-term rolling work programs (2-3 weeks).

  • Conduct inspections: Carry out and record accurate site inspections daily/weekly.
